Hello 2012!!

So the holidays around here were here and gone in a flash, like normal! But we had some good times, some road-trippin', and even some SWIMMING on New Year's Day (only in Arizona, right?!)

About a week before Christmas, the three of us headed down to Las Cruces to see our good friend Brandon, home on his R&R from Afghanistan. It was great to see him and the family, and we had a nice couple of days just hanging out and enjoying their company. Rylie was a trooper, and she is turning out to be quite the little road tripper. She even made mom and dad so happy by napping a whopping 3.5 hours on the way back home (ok, that might have been because of the cold she picked up, but hey... was still nice to have some peace and quiet on the 6 hour drive!)

We had to stop to pee anyways... so we went and visited the "Thing" - pretty much worth the buck!
Such a little trooper!
Sheri and I... miss you already girl

Both lounging in bed, playing on their iPhones - wait that's mommy's iPhone!!

Our Christmas was nice and laid back compared to our Thanksgiving, we just stayed home most of the day and then spent the evening at Nana and Poppy's and opened more presents. Rylie got a lot of needed clothes, shoes, and pajamas - and of course some fun toys - like her very first Barbie doll (with her own walking horse!), a 3-in-1 guitar/piano/drum, numerous books and smaller stocking stuffers. She kept asking for about a week after Christmas where all the other "presents" were, I don't think she was done unwrapping, it was too much fun. I loved that we got to be here to celebrate with little Chase on his first Christmas, and that Chris was here with his family to celebrate!

Little sneaker getting candy off of our gingerbread house...
Standing in front of our tree in Nana's homemade Peanuts dress! Love it!
First present of the morning....
Feeding her horsie...
Kissing her horsie (she loves this thing, good choice from her momma)
In her adorable handmade scarf and hat from Aunt Tracy!

And just to make everyone a tad bit jealous.... for our New Year's celebration we got to take a dip outside in about an 89 degree pool, in about 75 degree weather. It was absolutely perfect, and the best way to celebrate! Even had football games on the TV in the outside bar and music flowing, couldn't have been any better :)
