So I had my plane ticket ready to go for Rylie and I to head up to South Dakota to visit Chris, and 24 hours (almost exactly) before flight time Chris calls and says "Change of plans". His Grandaddy Rylander had been sick for quite a while, and we suddenly knew that we better get down to Americus, Georgia pretty quick so that Chris could say his last goodbye and so that Rylie and myself could finally meet him. It was a bittersweet trip, because as great as it was to meet Rylie's wonderful Great-Grandaddy, it was also sad to be there in town when he passed away on Monday, January 24th. We had no idea it would be that quick - and we were very glad that we flew out when we did. I'm so happy that Rylie and I both could meet him, and that Chris got to see him one last time. I was very happy that we could be there to support the family, and pay our respects. Plus, I know Chris's parents were very happy to spend so much time with their grand-baby. :) Thank you guys for everything! We miss you already!
One of the few shots I got of downtown Americus:
The Rylander Theatre - the Rylander family did some great things for this community! It was amazing to learn of all of Grandaddy Rylander's accomplishments
If all else fails with this kid, just read....
...and read, and read some more!
Daddy!! Chris and Rylie on our way to dinner:
Mmmmm, Johnny Carino's! This girl loves her some Italian! :)
Walking with daddy while visiting Andersonville National Historic Site:
